Project Highlights - Data Telecommunication

DATA AND TELECOMMUNICATIONS FACILITIES

Sprint Network Telecommunications Facility - Relay, MD
This is a 25,000-square foot addition to the existing telecommunications facility in Relay, Maryland. The systems included full glycol/chilled water-cooling plant, computer room air conditioning units, “Very Early Detection Systems”, fire alarm, DDC automatic temperature controls, power distribution, emergency generators, emergency power distribution, and direct current power distribution for the facility.

Sprint Network Telecommunications Facility - Pennsauken, New Jersey
Similar to the project in Relay, MD, this was a 20,000 square foot addition to the existing facility and renovation to existing. The design includes provisions for a future addition of 25,000 square feet and consolidating the cooling plant and emergency generators for the existing facility, the new addition, and the future addition.

Offices, Data Rooms, and Laboratories for Corvis - Columbia, Maryland
Corvis manufactures telecommunications switching and broadband equipment for its customers. A total of 90,000 square feet of space, which consists mostly of laboratory and manufacturing areas, has been designed by SRBR under direct contract to Corvis. DX and chilled water cooling systems, complex ventilation, power, lighting and controls.

Visa International Call Center - Baltimore, MD
60,000 square feet on four floors of an existing high-rise building located in Owings Mills, Maryland. The renovation accommodated a new international call center for Visa. The building was originally designed with two separate central HVAC plants, one for the building HVAC systems and one for data systems. SRBR designed major changes to the plants so the 24-hour Visa operation center would have a dedicated cooling system that is separate from the plant that serves the rest of the tenants in the 300,000 square foot high-rise building.

Mechanical & Electrical System Designs for Banks and Lending Institutions - Mid-Atlantic Area
SRBR has designed low voltage systems for a large variety of banks and lending institutions. The various institutions are Washington Savings Bank (450,000 SF office building), Farmers and Mechanics Bank (over 25,000 SF of individual banks and offices), Columbia Bank (over 50,000 SF of individual banks and offices), Maryland National Bank/Bank of America (over 100,000 SF of individual banks and offices), and other banks and lending institutions.

Century High School Low Voltage Systems - Carroll County, Maryland
SRBR was the lead design firm for the automatic temperature control, fire alarm, security, telecommunications, media, and data systems designs for the 200,000 square foot high school. The Carroll County School System relied on SRBR to provide advice and assistance to the county for the selection and purchase of the telecommunications and data equipment.

Winters Mill High School Low Voltage Systems - Westminster, Maryland
The success of SRBR’s low voltage system design at Century High School in Carroll County, Maryland led to the full design of the same systems at the Winters Mill High School in Westminster.

Morgan State University Telecommunications and Fiber Optic Systems - Baltimore, Maryland
This project is a combined project of three mid-rise residence towers for more than 800 Morgan State University students. SRBR designed the extension of the central campus fiber optic telecommunications, data, and direct digital automatic temperature control systems on the site that feed each building

Maryland State Department of Health and Mental Hygiene Laboratory, and the Maryland State Department of General Services - Preston Street, Baltimore, MD
This project was an energy performance contract to the State of Maryland. Energy savings from enhancements to the building infrastructure were calculated and designed by SRBR including new direct digital automatic temperature control system throughout the buildings. The annual energy savings for the building amounted to over $150,000.00 per year.
